Tri Tip cooks like a tender steak, but slices like a brisket. This flavorful cut takes well to wet or dry rubs and is an easy piece for even an inexperienced home cook to do well, on the grill or in the oven.
Tip: For tender meat, always slice across the grain. Tri tip consists of two pieces of meat running different directions, so pay attention when slicing and change your knife direction accordingly.
